All the money stuff

Session costs, self-pay rates, and payment options—clear, direct, and free of surprises.

Why don’t you take insurance directly?

That’s a reasonable question. Insurance companies often hold the upper hand in their relationships with therapists and other healthcare providers, and that power dynamic can shape the care people receive.

Choosing a private-pay therapist creates room for a few important things:

  • The right approach. We can use techniques beyond cognitive behavioral therapy and choose a modality that fits your needs.
  • Less pathologizing. I do not have to give you a label simply to justify our work. We can focus on doing more of what feels aligned and less of what does not.
  • Greater privacy. I keep appropriate records for your care without routinely submitting session details to an insurance company.
